I just love 1 Corinthians 7 because it’s one of the chapters in the Bible which tells us all that we need to know about marriage in a nutshell. You should take some time to read the entire chapter, simply because its amazing guidance to us as women and even to married couples.

oor some time now 1 Corinthians 7:34 has been on my mind and it’s only recently that I really got to understand what God is saying to us in this verse:

It states:

There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. (KJV)

The word “virgin” here is used to mean “unmarried” as the second line states. God wants us unmarried to be caught up with His business first and foremost as single women.

We must be focused on being totally holy in body and spirit before God as the scripture states. It’s almost as if God is telling us that He wants to prepare us as single women to please Him first and foremost before anything else.

In singleness our main goal should be to serve and please God. We must be fixed in our God-given purpose. Once you do this you will see that over time and as you embrace your season of singleness, you will become the holy and righteous woman that God has called you to be. In addition, you will be more prepared to please and serve the man that God has for you.

Nothing happens before the time. So if you trust God and are believing God for that someone, when you complete every test and develop in your season, God will open doors and lead Mr. Right to you that you will be able to please him the way God wants you to as a godly woman.

In my season of singleness I have gotten a chance to develop a deeper relationship with God. In my singleness I have found purpose and I have ben able to hear God’s voice clearer. The Holy Spirit has been guiding me on how to fulfil my dreams. God has been strengthening me and giving me the boldness and courage to fulfil the ministry which He has created me for. There is no one else to please and serve but God in this season. God has been preparing me without distraction for the next season.

In this season of singleness, not only is the word of God close to my heart, but I have also been reading awesome books written by godly men and women who give sound advice in areas of singleness, marriage, forgiveness, love etc. I can only say that the single life is an awesome experience. For me, pleasing God is prepares me more and more each day to please my future husband as a godly woman.

My encouragement to you today is simply this: Embrace Your Season of Singleness Girlfriend. There is much beauty to be created in you and things to be birthed in you in this season that will be used for God’s glory over time and will also prepare you for your next season with Mr. Right.

  1. Its important for especially youth Christian individuals to understand that their bodies are the temples of the Lord. Purity speaks to the nature of God himself…And God takes great pleasure in seeing us live our lives the way he has intended for us to live it…Pure morally and spiritually… How can we Truly Honour God with a temple that is so defiled… Thats why the Psalmist David prayed in Psalm 51 v 2 For a washing and cleansing because sin seeks to destroy your soul and prevents us from getting to God… So live pure

  2. This is soooo true. The Lord tells us to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16) and He tells us that we must be vessels fit for use. 2 Timothy 2:21 states: If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
